The Bears obtained the Panthers’ first-round pick a year ago in a blockbuster trade. General manager Ryan Poles dealt the No. 1 selection in the 2023 draft in exchange for receiver DJ Moore, 2023 first- and second-round picks, a 2024 first-round choice that turned out to be No. 1 overall and a 2025 second-round pick.

The Bears sent their second-round pick to the Commanders last Oct. 31 in exchange for defensive end Montez Sweat, who helped fuel a defensive resurgence over the second half of the season, registering 6.0 sacks in nine games.

The Bears obtained a fourth-round selection from the Eagles by trading down from No. 9 to 10 in the first round of the 2023 draft to choose right tackle Darnell Wright, who started all 17 games as a rookie.

The Bears traded their fifth-round pick to the Bills March 4 in exchange for center/guard Ryan Bates.

The Bears dealt their sixth-round choice to the Dolphins last August in exchange for guard Dan Feeney.

The Bears traded their seventh-round pick to the Patriots July 13, 2022, in exchange for receiver N’Keal Harry.

When and where is the draft being held?

The 89th annual NFL Draft will be conducted Thursday through Saturday in Detroit. The first round will begin Thursday at 7 p.m. (CT). The second and third rounds will start Friday at 6 p.m. (CT). And Rounds 4-7 will kick off Saturday at 11 a.m. (CT).

How long do teams have to make their picks?

The time limit is 10 minutes for Round 1, seven minutes for Round 2, five minutes for Rounds 3-6 and four minutes for Round 7.

How many times have the Bears had the 1st pick in the draft?

The Bears have chosen two players with the first selection in the draft: Michigan halfback Tom Harmon in 1941 and Oklahoma A&M halfback Bob Fenimore in 1947.

How many times have the Bears had the 9th pick in the draft?

The Bears have chosen six players at No. 9, highlighted by Hall of Fame middle linebacker Brian Urlacher in 2000. Their other No. 9 picks have been running backs Don Scott (1941), Bob Steuber (1943) and Ray Evans (1944), defensive end Al Harris (1979) and outside linebacker Leonard Floyd (2016).
