>> IN LELAND. THE SEARCH CONTINUES FOR THESE THREE PEOPLE THAT YOU’RE ABOUT TO SEE ON YOUR SCREEN, WHO THE FBI SAY ARE CONNECTED TO THE MASS SHOOTING THAT KILLED SIX PEOPLE AND INJURED MORE THAN A DOZEN. THANKS FOR JOINING US AT SIX. I’M TROY JOHNSON. >> AND I’M MEGAN WEST. LELAND. SHOOTING HAPPENED IN THE TOWN’S DOWNTOWN FOLLOWING THE HOMECOMING GAME AT LELAND HIGH SCHOOL. THAT’S WHERE 16 WAPT’S BETH ALLEN MILES IS JOINING US LIVE TONIGHT. BETH, AL. >> AND OUTSIDE LELAND HIGH SCHOOL, THAT GRIEF STRETCHES FAR BEYOND A CRIME SCENE. IT REACHES INTO CLASSROOMS. IT ALSO REACHES INTO HOMES ALL ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA. THE WASHINGTON COUNTY CORONER HAS RELEASED SIX OF THE NAMES OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DIED LITERALLY DOWN THE STREET FROM HERE. I NEED YOU TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR SCREEN. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO DIED VIOLENT DEATHS DUE TO GUN VIOLENCE. AGAIN, THIS IS THE SHOOTING THAT HAPPENED AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH MAIN AND FOURTH STREET, WHERE TEDDY BEARS AND MELTED CANDLES NOW PAINT THE SAME SIDEWALKS WHERE WITNESSES TELL US THEY SAW A HORROR MOVIE. NOW, PARENTS HERE IN LELAND ARE BEING FORCED TO HAVE CONVERSATIONS THEY NEVER IMAGINED HAVING WITH THEIR CHILDREN, EXPLAINING DEATH, VIOLENCE, AND FEAR, ALL WHILE TRYING TO REASSURE THOSE KIDS THAT THEY’RE SAFE IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY. >> ME PERSONALLY, I REALLY WE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT THIS. WE, YOU KNOW, WE TALK ABOUT GOING WITH JESUS, BUT LIKE WITH IT’S LIKE AS FAR AS THE SHOOTING AND THE PARENTS, I DON’T KNOW, I, I DON’T HAVE THE WORDS TO SAY ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IT AS A MOTHER IS IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME FOR MY KIDS. SO. >> AND, YOU KNOW, IT AFFECTED THE TOWN BECAUSE EVERYBODY THAT WE TRIED TO TALK TO ALL HAVE TOLD ME KIND OF AROUND THE SAME THINGS. YOU KNOW, WE DON’T REALLY WANT TO TALK OR WE DON’T REALLY WANT TO TALK ON CAMERA BECAUSE THEY’RE SCARED OF THE UNKNOWN. BUT THE FBI HAS INFORMED US THAT THERE ARE SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY. AND WHILE THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR AT LEAST THREE MORE SUSPECTS, I’D LIKE YOU TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR SCREEN AGAIN. THESE ARE THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT THE FBI ARE LOOKING FOR. SO MANY PARENTS, JUST LIKE THE ONE YOU JUST HEARD FROM, SAY THESE TOUGH LESSONS ARE BECOMING A PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE. WHAT WE ALSO FOUND OUT IS THAT THE LELAND MEDICAL CLINIC HERE IS OFFERING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR ANYONE WHO WAS AFFECTED BY THIS MASS SHOOTING. WE’RE IN WE’

The FBI Jackson Division announced Tuesday that agents are still searching for three unknown suspects — two women and a man — in connection with a mass shooting that killed six people.
